Frequently Asked Questions

Q – How do I take advantage of the Early Bird Registration discount?

A – Mail your completed camp application along with deposit to 4-H Camp Wyomoco, 401 North Main Street, Warsaw, NY 14569. Applications must be postmarked on or before April 15, 2008.

Q - Do I still have to pay the $50 deposit with the application if the camper has a campership from the 4-H cookie sale?

A - If the camper has a full campership (the camp week is completely paid for by the campership earned from the cookie sale) then NO, do not send in the $50 deposit.

If the camper only has a partial campership (the campership earned does NOT pay for the whole week at camp), then YES, please send the $50 deposit in with the camper's application.

Q – Does the camper need to have horse experience in order to go to Horse Camp?

A – Yes.  If the camper has little or no horse experience, we suggest the Horsemanship class, which is offered Weeks 2, 3, 4 and 5.

Q – If the camper is participating in the "Rent A Horse For A Week" program at Horse Camp, what equipment does the camper need to bring?

A – The parent handbook lists the items required for camper and horse. The camper can disregard everything listed under "Required For Horse". These items will be supplied for him/her.

Please remember to pack appropriate footwear for the camper though, which is listed under "Required For Camper" in the handbook.

Q - If the camper has chosen an activity class with a fee, do I pay this fee with the application?

A - Yes, Activity fees can be paid with the application or at camp.

Q - If the camper has chosen a Specialty Camp, do I pay this extra fee with the application?

A - Yes, specialty camp fees are payable when submitting the application.

Q- If a camper is interested in CIT I or CIT II, can he/she still do this and a Specialty Camp?

A- Yes, CIT I and CIT II are activity choices that will not interfere with a Specialty Camp.

(CIT Requirements: For CIT I, the camper must be 13 years of age. For CIT II, the camper must have completed CIT I.)

Q - Can a camper participate in more than one Specialty Camp during a week at camp?

A - No.

Q – What is the Horsemanship class during Weeks 2, 3, 4 and 5?

A - Horsemanship Class is for anyone interested in learning more about caring for and riding a horse properly. Riding instructors are experienced to teach campers of all levels. Children are matched with horses appropriate to their riding abilities. Campers receive two class periods of riding and instruction each day.

Q - Do you still have to pay $65 for Horsemanship Class for week #6 since it’s a shorter week?
(Pickup on Friday is at 9:00 a.m. instead of 7:00 p.m. in Week 6)

A - Yes, because they will still get the same amount of class time.

Q - If a camper takes the Horsemanship Class, can he/she still choose a Specialty Camp?

A - Yes, however, we encourage everyone to fill out all of the 10 activity choices in case they don’t get their first choice.
